tekmage hello StefanO!
StefanO To give you some background information about our company: We're publishing the Aminet CD-ROM series aswell as well known commercial products like TurboCalc, CygnusEd and others ... !
tekmage Few rules, please end your question or statments with GA, have you questions ready and if you have a question /msg tekmage with a "?"
tekmage queue is platon42 , Manowar2 , Trizt
platon42 StefanO: aminet series is doing quite well. i just wondered if you're still giving out free copies to contributors as i haven't received any for some time now.
platon42 ga
tekmage queue is Manowar2 , Trizt, RaM, joule
StefanO platon42: Well, we're still giving away copies for free, but you have to pay the postage. In order to request your freebie you'll have to provide a freebie-ticket-number.
StefanO ga
Manowar2 StefanO: Hi 1) Will u sell LinuxPPC Redhat CD ? 2)Which products do u plan for 99 ? 3)Have u ever thought to publish Amiga CD games ?GA
Illuvatar I'm screwed
tekmage queue is Trizt, RaM, joule, phoe, platon42
StefanO Manowar2: We'll have seen a strong demand for LinuxPPC at the Computer 98 and we'll try to make this CD available aswell. In 99 we'll continue to release many new products but I cannot disclose specific details, yet. We're not in the games publishing business and our expereince is quite limited. But if someone offers us a breathtaking game we won't hesitate to give it a try! ga
Trizt Stefan how's the sales going? Will you be able to continue with the shrinking Amiga market? 2) how long is the freebie-ticket valide? ga
StefanO Trizt: We had been happy with the sales at Computer 98. Especially the new released have done well. Freebie-tickets are valid as long as we have the Aminet volume in stock. At least 6 months! ga
RaM Hi Stefan, when can we expect to see Bodyguard (progress? clashes with PPC?), and is there any progress on AmiCDFS 3 commercial? GA
tekmage queue is joule, phoe, platon42, sN00Py
StefanO RaM: You won't see me announce any progress regarding Amiga BodyGuard because we have cancelled this product a couple of days ago. On our web-site you should find the reasons for this decision explained. Regarding AmiCDFS you should get in touch with MArtin Berndt as this is his private product! ga
phoe is the RedHat Linux CD an official RedHat release or a port - if it's a port, why are you charging so much, when cheapbytes.com sell the generic (non commercial) versions for $2 ? (the source is freely available, so you could compile your own version for any platform) GA
StefanO phoe: No, we call it a "unofficial RedHat"-release. The price is not as low as $2 because we supply technical support, we have marketing expanses, our dealers and distributors need their margins, ... . ga
platon42 I know about the 'ticket' system, I just didn't get one for CD 26 in the past. Just wondered (no need to get too deep into this matter) :) Another question: What are the advantages about your redhat linux distribution compared to the one Eagle offers? Is the kernal any better? (the eagle one doesn't even support A4000 on-board scsi)? ga
atmosh thanx
StefanO platon42: Please get in touch with Urban Mueller (mueller@relog.ch). Urban is in charge of the freebie-ticket-database. I cannot compare our product to Eagle Linux. We tried very hard to buy a copy from Eagle but they failed to deliver all the time.
StefanO ga
sN00Py What ever happened to Amiga Bodyguard.. the memory protection for AMigaOS.... they kept on delaying it and then finally canceled the project..... in my view Schatztruhe has only embrassed itself by adveriting for months about its soon to be released availability.... please explain what happened to the project....
sN00Py GA
tekmage If you have a question please "/msg tekmage ?"
StefanO sN00Py: Well, we had a contract with Martin Bernd. Martin promised to deliver the product in May 98 and we trusted him. The problem was, that MArtin failed to deliver since May and every months we had to hear further excuses. 10 days ago he informed us that he won't be able to finalize the product in time for the show
StefanO and that it will probably take much longer. Thus we cancelled our contract because we're not convinced anymore that this product will ever see the light of the day.
StefanO Martin did not act in bad faith. He simply undererstimated the challenge of BodyGuard. ga
AndersJ StefanO: "Schatztruhe has taken over the CGX development of CGX - Will we be seeing some futures that is worth paing for" GA
tekmage If you have a question please "/msg tekmage ?"
StefanO AndersJ: Frank Mariak was and is the programmer of CGX. I assume that he'll continue to do a good job in further developing CGX.
StefanO ga
tekmage I don't see anyother questions comming in
tekmage oops
tekmage two moe
tekmage mpre
aTmosh Webcam is now functional: http://ugn.amiga.org/webcam/
tekmage I was going to suggest that you tell us about one of the your products in detail
tekmage let us get to these two questions and see were we are
Manowar2 When BvisionPPC from P5 is released ?..Will CGX V4 BvisionPPC driver be free or Will we have to pay ?
Manowar2 GA
Illuvatar ouch
StefanO Manowar2: Well, we won't be able to give out drivers for free. Please ask Phase 5. I assume that they won't ship BvisionPPC without any drivers. ga
laire StefanO wasn`t that a bit more than shortsighted about MB and BodyGuard ? All Amiga experts probably told you since the first announcement that it`s nonsense. I can imagine the situation he moved you because of the adds you did for that thing, though. GA
StefanO laire: Before Martin received his contract I have discussed this issue with Ralph Babel. As Ralph told me that such a program is possible I signed the contract in good faith. ga
RaM nope...nuthing now..pass : )
OrginC98 StefanO: Will there be an AGA-cbgfx driver without the need for a ppc within 4.0 ? If not, why ? GA
StefanO OrginC98: I'm not able to answer. Please forward your question to schatztruhe@cityweb.de and you should receive the correct answer within 1 or 2 days. Ga
tekmage StafanO: it looks like the time is up
tekmage StefanO: thank you very much for comming to speak to us today!
StefanO Thank you for your questions! See you at Computer 98!
StefanO ga
